We’re delighted to invite you to the 15th TropPaed Intensive Course!
Once again, we aim to offer a diverse program featuring lectures, hands-on small group work, and clinically focused seminars. We also plan to set aside plenty of time for international exchange of ideas and experiences.
As we finalize our planning, you’ll find continuous updates on the schedule and speakers on this page.
Preliminary Program
Here you’ll find an overview of the planned course topics. On some days, international guests will share case studies. Evening program is also planned.
Please note: Some program items may still be adjusted in terms of timing or, in rare cases, content.
Arrival is already possible on 4th of May. On the day of arrival, there will be an optional group dinner starting between 7 – 8 p.m.
Meals included: Breakfast: 7:00–8:30 a.m; Lunch: approx. 12:45–2:15 p.m.; Dinner: approx. 6:45–8:00 p.m.; Two coffee breaks each day.
On some evenings, optional activities will be offered after dinner.
Thursday night, there will be a themed farewell party!
Departure is scheduled for Friday after lunch around 2 p.m.
Pandemic Notice: Any current guidelines will be communicated before the course begins.
Arrival already on Sunday (4th of May) is possible.
Check-in from 5 p.m., with dinner around 7-8 p.m.

Course Fee and Registration
The course fee is calculated to cover course expenses and to help co-fund scholarships for international participants. Due to increased accommodation and meal costs, we have had to adjust the fees this year accordingly. No profit is made.
The fee includes course participation, accommodation from May 4 to May 9, 2025, meals and coffee breaks from Sunday dinner through Friday lunch, and course materials. The fee does not cover alcoholic beverages, drinks outside provided meals and coffee breaks, or transportation costs.

Scholarships for colleagues from resource-limited countries will be available again in 2025! Applications can be submitted until September 15, 2024 (to: gtpscholarship(a)globalchildhealth.de). For this, we request the submission of a motivation letter including a CV and a letter of recommendation. Further details can be found under the section “Support for International Colleagues.“

We are pleased to be able to hold our course again at Schloss Rauischholzhausen, the conference and training facility of the University of Giessen. This historic and beautiful venue is tailor-made for our course as it offers the possibility to accommodate all participants, organizers and lecturers in one place, good facilities and a very fair financial framework. The versatile room selection meets our demand of lectures combined with small group work. Catering includes three main meals and two coffee breaks per day. Vegan and vegetarian options are available at each meal. Hosting the course there for the first time in 2016 has proven to be a complete success.
Cancellation Policy
In the event of a cancellation, we will first offer your spot to those on the waiting list. Alternatively, you may arrange a replacement participantyourself. If the spot is successfully filled, we will refund your course fee minus a €50 processing fee. If the spot remains unfilled, the full course feewill be charged.

After the cancellation of the course in 2021 due to the pandemic and the postponement of the TropPaed course and the GTP annual conference to the warm season in order to minimise the risk of a face-to-face event due to COVID-related restrictions, we are pleased to again invite you to Rauischholzhausen in May!
We would like to offer you again a varied programme of lectures, practical small group work and clinically oriented seminars. In addition, there will be plenty of time for international exchange of plans and experiences.

Preliminary program
Here you will find the preliminary topics of the course. On some days, case studies of the international guests will be presented and an evening programme will take place.

Fees and Registration
The course fees are non-profit and calculated to cover course costs and to co-finance participation of international scholarship holders. The price includes course participation, accommodation from 14-19 April 2024, meals and coffee breaks from Sunday (dinner) to Friday (lunch) and course materials. The price does not include alcoholic beverages and drinks outside of those served at meals and coffee breaks, as well as transport costs and any compulsory medical testing which may incur due to pandemics.
Scholarships for colleagues from LMIC are available. Applications will be received until August 15th 2023 (to: gtpscholarship(a)globalchildhealth.de). Please send us a motivational letter, CV and reference letter. Further details: “Förderung internationaler Kollegen“.

Cancellation Policy
If you need or chose to withdraw your course registration we will try to fill your spot with someone from the waiting list. Additionally you will have the chance to present a substitute yourself. If your registration can be filled with someone else, we will refund you with the full course fees minus a 50 Euro handling fee. If your spot cannot be filled, we will charge you the full course fee.
