GIZ-funded Hospital Partnership QECH/KUHeS, Blantyre & GTP, 2024-2026

Background Information

  • Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) with 15,000 deliveries annually, 40% Caesarean sections
  • Around 5,000 neonatal admissions per year
  • In-hospital neonatal mortality rate of around 12%, with 90% of these being early neonatal deaths (ENNDs)
  • Only one neonatologist in the entire country

Who We’re Looking For

  • Experienced neonatologists and neonatal nurses, preferably with experience in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs)
  • Passionate about teaching and sharing knowledge in a clinical setting
  • Available for teaching at QECH (lectures, rounds)
  • Commitment to 2-week teaching periods in 2025 and 2026
